Plan

We differentiate planning for distance learning from the use of digital tools that enable instruction. The Planning for Distance Learning covers pedagogical and teaching strategies to help inform your plans for instruction at a distance. The Digital Tools helps teachers learn more about technology that enables instruction.

As you begin to think about planning, we ask you to be flexible with your expectations, habits, and work each day. Many of our students are finding themselves as caregivers, sharing devices, and we cannot control their learning environments. Students may not be able to participate in a synchronous class session and will need an asynchronous option; an option that makes the class session content available to students outside the “live” remote class time is key in your planning. This is true for you too; you may need to plan for when you are able to be present and respond in ways that are more flexible than before closures.

*Participants should be told, before you begin classes, if you are recording.
